Floating Market

From Thursday through to Sunday, Merchant Square will play host to a floating market with canal traders selling their wares in the basin and along the canal.
There will be a variety of independent traders selling a curated mix of products, from vinyl, to fashion, art and craft. Acclaimed vinyl store The Record Deck will be selling vintage and collectible records, whilst the Book Barge, an independent book shop on a narrow boat will be presenting their collection onboard. The Floating Showroom will provide workshops to help people create craft items for the home, as well as stunning terrariums, origami poetry with an on-board poet. The Village Butty will also be cruising along to Paddington bringing their eclectic floating village hall – a welcoming space where you can relax with a hot or cold drink, play a board game and listen to some live acoustic music. The Herbal Barge is London’s first floating herbal apothecary, check out the clinic onboard this restored Dutch barge boat. In addition hop aboard further boats to discover new art, jewellery and handmade scarves. Visit The Littlest Canal Museum for an insight into the heritage of the canals in the capital.
There will also be plenty of land based fun with a series of live music performances as well as the Crave Street Food Market bringing their collection of eateries including Indian hot kati rolls from Kolkata, gourmet French cuisine from Laurent’s Kitchen and Smells like Greece will be bringing their mouth-watering souvlaki and other Grecian treats or try the tapas from Campana or fresh handmade pasta from Pasta Mista.
There is fun for all the family with a range of free activities including face painting or try your hand at the circus skills workshops including plate spinning, juggling and hula hoop. Or chill out on the deckchairs or giant bean bags on the lawn
